partitioned masu box

The classic masu box is sometimes embellished with a divider which is folded using a square paper that is separate from the one used to fold the box. But what I wanted is to fold a masu box with divider using a single sheet of paper. After some doodling, I came up with this, which I folded starting with the waterbomb base:

The photo below presents my model — the one on the right– side by side with Jun Maekawa’s model — the one on the left. The latter, which is featured in his book Genuine Origami (2007), is folded beginning with the bird base. I folded these two boxes using separate sheets of square paper of the same size.
